The Stranger hired me again to do a portrait of Mayor Mike McGinn but only partly finished as Seattle has yet to find out exactly where he stands on the arts. I went back and forth on whether or not to put the brush and pencil in there but I think it helped nail down the concept of the article as if it was still in process on an artist’s table. This is the second time they’ve had me do a portrait of McGinn, I think this one came out a bit better, at least in terms of likeness. Check out the article here »

Part One of a series of food illustrations that I’m contributing to a Philadelphia based food blog called “Drawing for Food”. With restaurant and food topics centered around the pacific northwest, I’ve chosen Portland’s Voodoo Doughnut to highlight first. Check out the blog here». Thanks to the talented Hawk Krall and Kris Chau for featuring me!

Sketch; Pencil. Working on a “Crazy Heart” illustration, I had to include this key piece to Bad Blake’s existence, his most consistant “lady”, none other than his rusty red ‘78 Chevy Suburban. An awesome car I must say, and fun as h@$% to draw!

Local Mexican Restaurant “The Matador” hired me to do their annual Cinco De Mayo shirts that the staff wears. They wanted something fun and different. I made the “matador” a minotuar and have him standing on a human skull as a nice spin on things since the bull is usually killed at the end of a bull fight.
